Limited Partner Engagement Lead: GLI Market Building
Part-time contractor consultant position (~25-40% time), 2 years, remote, but must be based in Southeast Asia, some travel required.
About the project: Investing in Women (IW) is a multi-country Australian Government initiative in Southeast Asia (SEA) that seeks to accelerate women’s economic empowerment through increased and equitable opportunities in the private sector, contributing to inclusive, sustainable economic recovery and growth in targeted countries. The objective is to advance gender equality in SEA through influencing and growing an ecosystem of policymakers, business leaders, capital providers and women’s economic empowerment actors. Among other objectives the initiative seeks to increase demand for Gender Lens Investing (GLI) strategies and products.
IW has contracted Propelevate to build demand for GLI among upstream capital providers, specifically institutional and private limited partners (LPs) who invest in venture capital (VC). In September 2024, Propelevate launched the SEA LP Network, designed to meet the unique needs of LPs: the chance to learn, share experiences, and explore inclusive approaches to emerging sectors and new opportunities to create value in the region. Virtual engagement enables members to discover strategies driving LP success, explore how emerging trends are reshaping the investment landscape, and gain a deeper understanding of critical factors influencing portfolio performance and long-term value creation. Additionally, in-person events provide an opportunity for focused networking between senior representatives of vetted LPs. Finally, Propelevate manages annual Investing in Women Awards, recognizing LP efforts to further gender equity in investing, in conjunction with the SEA LP Network.
Key Responsibilities:
LP Engagement & Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective institutional and private LP members of the SEA LP Network.
Strategic Outreach & Communication: Design and execute targeted engagement strategies to increase LP participation and alignment with key initiatives.
Event Strategy & Content Development: Lead the planning and execution of LP-focused events including webinars, roundtables, and thought leadership content.
Market Intelligence & Research: Stay informed on trends affecting LPs in Southeast Asia and provide insights to help shape engagement strategies.
Internal Coordination: Work with internal and external teams to ensure seamless communication and execution.
Qualifications:
Established network among private and institutional limited partners such as family offices/foundations, asset allocators, university endowments, pension funds, and sovereign worth funds in Southeast Asia, and ability to successfully drive engagement with this audience.
5+ years in investor relations or fundraising in private equity/venture capital.
Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
Strong facilitation and presentation skills; with ability and comfort leading trainings and/or public speaking.
Experience in event strategy, messaging, or content development is a plus.
Strong team player ethos, with the ability to manage multiple projects while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
Highly motivated and organized; detail-oriented.
Proactively identify challenges and offer solutions.
Deep commitment to gender equality.
Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field (MBA/CFA a plus).
